From November 16 to November 17, 2018, NEFBiH hosted its two-part commemoration of the 75th anniversary of BiH Statehood Day. The first portion of this commemoration was held at the Massachusetts State House and featured a keynote address by Dr. Bogic Bogicevic, PhD, as well as remarks by Representatives Paul Mark and Jerald Parisella, and Steven Darwin. Guests also had the opportunity to listen to live performances of traditional Bosnian Sevdalinke and watch a folk dance performance by NEFBiH’s folklore dance group, “Ljiljani”, while enjoying some Bosnian delicacies.
The following afternoon, NEFBiH hosted the second portion of its BiH Statehood Day Commemoration at Tufts University, hosting a panel discussion with the theme “Equality, Progress, and Economic Development in BiH and Neighboring States”. The panel was comprised of various Balkan-American business owners and professionals whom spoke about their experiences as they related to the topic of the panel discussion. Guests also had the opportunity to hear from Dr. Bogicevic once again and listen to a presentation by Dr. Bruce Hitchner about the Dayton Peace Accords.
