During our Inaugural “A taste of Bosnia and Herzegovina” Festival, attendees were able to get a glimpse of Bosnia and Herzegovina's beauty through its music, traditional dance, old-style “showroom”, fun corner of kids’ favorite stories and games, and of course- through food and drinks. We got started with a performance of Bosnian-Herzegovnian classic traditional sevdah/sevdalinke songs by Boston Sevdah Band. The program continued with some of the most popular pop and rock’roll songs performed by DjD Band. Bosnian-Herzegovinian capital Sarajevo was known as the hub of the genre in former Yugoslavia in 1970. Today, you get to hear some of everyone’s favorite songs by bands like Indexi, Bijelo Dugme, Teska Industrija, Crvena Jabuka, Dino Merlin, Parni Valjak, and more. Folklore Group Bulbuli of the Association of Bosniaks of New Hampshire performed traditional folklore dances that attendees were able to take part in the middle and end of the day in a traditional Bosnian dance called “kolo”. Bulbuli are led by Naida Idrizovic and choreography was made by Sedjad and Fatima Masic. We extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteers, sponsors, and supporters. Our volunteers are really the heart and soul of our organization, who have consistently invested countless hours and great effort to make our events as successful as possible.
