On July 10,2012, the organization hosted an event: “NEFBiH Presents: Information Session and Registration for Bosnian Elections 2012” to enable citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina living in the area to register for the upcoming Bosnian elections. In accordance with our policy of non-political affiliation, NEFBiH did not allow any political campaigning at this event. The event was held at NEFBiH Cultural Center in Cambridge, MA , and about 30 people attended. The guest speaker was Dr. Suad Arnautovic, member of the Central Election Committee BiH. Dr. Arnautovic’s visit was organized in partnership with the Bosnian Embassy in Washington, D.C. He was visiting the United States, with the goal of organizing community meetings with Bosnian citizens, in regards to the elections that will take place in October, 2012. During this event, members and non member visitors were informed about all the news, rules and process of elections in Bosnia. With proper documentation, attendees were also able to directly register for the elections. One of the main goals of NEFBiH is to be of assistance to the Bosnian-Herzegovinian community in the area to register to vote in the elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as United State’s elections. NEFBiH, while maintaining own political neutrality and not endorsing any campaigns, considers the right to vote a great gift and a great way to improve the conditions of the underprivileged and reduce prejudice and discrimination.
