On June 27, 2015, NEFBiH hosted an event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the biggest genocide in Europe since the Holocaust, where, among other atrocities, 8, 372+ men and boys of all ages were brutally murdered in less than one week, virtually almost leaving the Srebrenica town (and surrounding areas) without its male population. Our friends at Facing History and Ourselves very graciously allowed us to use one of their lecture halls to hold the event in. The
Event featured a keynote address by Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States, Her Excellency Jadranka Negodic and genocide survivors’ testimonials by: Ms. Senada Cvrk Pargan (Srebrenica (Bosnia) genocide survivor, activist, and published writer), Ms. Marie Carine Boggis (Rwandan genocide survivor and prominent activist), Mr. Jack Trompetter (child survivor of Holocaust from Holland and artist), and genocide awareness campaign co-chairs Edina Skaljic and Amanda Hukanovic.
