NEFBIH would like to thank our book club leader, Neda Zovic, for an educational night about the complex history from 19th century Bosnia and Andric’s abilities to describe those moments elaborately through their characters. The rich discussion among our book club attendees brought our history to life.
Neda Zovic was born in 1948 in Croatia and is the daughter of a political prisoner. Her family became refugees in 1962. She grew up in Belgium where she finished a degree in Romance Philology at the University of Liege. Since 1979, she has been living in the United States and received her doctoral degree from Harvard University. A refugee herself, Neda and her husband Robert Chernack, MD have been active in the Bosnian, Croatian, and now Syrian refugee community.
Our next book choice will be announced very soon. Stay tuned!
