Please join us on October 7 at 10 a.m. for this exceptional discussion about the precious Haggadah. We will be discussing the history of the Jewish community in Bosnia and the long history of this book. How this book survived several wars, who saved it, and how it has come to symbolize the spirit of religious tolerance that has always been part of Bosnian history.
We hope that Professor Imamovic will be able to join us for the discussion.

Description:
“On the Sarajevo Haggadah” by Dr Enver Imamovic
The most valuable exhibit held in the National Museum in Sarajevo is the Haggadah, the Jewish ceremonial book. Along with its 700 years of tempestuous history, from its creation in Spain and its centuries of travel across distant lands to Sarajevo, its special value comes from its unique content. Its texts and colorful illustrations present key events from the history of the Jewish people. Very few books of similar content present the birth of Moses, his deeds, the salvation of Jews from Egyptian slavery, etc. There were many reasons for listing this book as part of the most valuable cultural heritage of the world.”
