Yesterday our members and friends Jasmina Cesic, Sally Fleschner, Mead Misic, Azem Dervisevic, and Margaret Barry had a very informative and productive meeting with US Congressman for the Massachusetts 4th congressional district Jake Auchincloss in his office in Newton.
At the meeting, our members informed the Congressman about the ongoing human rights discrimination that is taking place in Bosnia. The biggest problem is that the current Bosnian constitution discriminates against its citizens based on ethnicity.
For Bosnia to become an EU member, the European Court for Human Rights vertices must be implemented. Any constitutional changes happening in Bosnia must remove all discrimination against its citizens.
Our goal is that each Bosnia citizen has equal rights in the entire territory of Bosnia no matter their ethnicity, religion, or any other affiliation.
We were very happy that Congressman Auchincloss shared the same goal for Bosnia and that he not only committed to working in the US Congress to support these changes but is also hoping to attend our 80th Statehood Day Celebration this November.
Thank you so much to our diligent team and Congressman Auchincloss for your passion, initiative and support!
