NEFBIH invited the Elementary School “Đurđevik” Živinice to take part in the initiative to help our National Museum in Sarajevo, and rewarded fifty students with a one-day trip to Sarajevo, ie a visit to the museum.
Many schools, as well as cultural and educational institutions, in BiH have been denied financial assistance for years now. Our National Museum in Sarajevo is no exception, and has been denied funding from state institutions which directly prevented the functioning of one of the most important cultural and scientific institutions of BiH.
As part of this year’s NEFBIH initiative to support the work of the National Museum, we decided to support and reward one school from Tuzla Canton with a one-day trip and visit to the museum.
The award consisted of the following:
1. Awarding 52 tickets for the National Museum to students of primary school “Đurđevik”
2. Tour of the museum accompanied by the curator
3. Providing transportation for students by bus
4. Providing lunch
The project was a success, as you can see from the attached photos. We hope that the students have learned about the history of our country, and had fun visiting out capital.
We also hope that NEFBIH will be able to organize many similar projects aimed at promoting the culture of our BiH, and enrich the experience and knowledge of our children with interesting educational programs.
We would like to thank our national museum „Zemaljski muzej BiH“ (Zemaljski muzej Bosne i Hercegovine), the „Holiday Travel“ agency (@holidaytravelzivinice), the „Holiday Hotel Sarajevo“ (@hotelholidaysarajevo), and Dženan Mukić (school coordinator for the event) for their cooperation and excellent hospitality.
