On April 20th, 2019, NEFBiH held its second Bosnian Book Club meeting. Those in attendance had the pleasure of enjoying a thought provoking and extensive discussion about the book, the author, and the time period of which most of the book focuses on. The discussion was led mainly by member of the NEFBiH Board of Directors, Aydin Kavara. Aydin is a PhD chemist working in the Biotechnology field in New England. He was born and lived in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a part of Yugoslavia, until he was 13. During the Bosnian war of the 1990s, he moved to Turkey, where he spent four years. Aydin is the author of numerous publications in the chemistry field. He studied British literature at Grand Valley State University. In his free time, he plays guitar.
Thank you to everybody that participated and helped make this another successful event for NEFBiH.
The next book club book will be “Death and the Dervish” by Meša Selimović, which will be discussed on June 8th, 2019. As always, all are welcome!
